Rekkedal, T. 2006. State of the Art Report on Distance Learning and E-learning Quality for SMEs. 27 pages. (this long version is not included in the book)

Aims: to prepare the 1st transnational meeting; to develop the State of the Art Report on Distance Learning Quality for SME's; to define the Criteria for Evaluating Quality in e-Learning.

CCC will be responsible to organise the 1st meeting. CECOA and U. Tartu will conceive the Project Quality Management Plan and CECOA will present the Project Valorisation Plan. All partners will present their previous project about e-learning and ROI methodology in order to transfer products, procedures and working processes.

NKI will be responsible for the coordination of the PR1 - State of the Art Report on Distance Learning Quality for SMEs and PR2 - Criteria for Evaluating Quality in e - Learning. P7 will present the timetable, methods and tools in order to develop the PR1 and PR2. All partners will collaborate in the conception and development of the PR1 and PR2. CCC will be the partner responsible for the Internal Evaluation of the WP1.

The aims of PR1 are: presentation of examples of excellence, more than e-learning figures; presentation of cases of relevance in distance training for SMEs; SME’s experience with e-learning courses (previous participation, level of resistance, intention to participate on future e-learning courses); evaluation quality in e-learning; areas more useful to be train under the e-learning, etc.

The aims of PR2 are the presentation of e-learning indicators of success and quality to the SME’s.

In terms of methods and techniques to conceive and develop the PR1 and PR2 we will go through the following steps: Literature review; Successful cases, Indicators, Criteria in e-Learning Quality.

U. Tartu will be responsible to create the project corporate image and NKI will be responsible to the conception of a project blog, which will be used all along the project to disseminate the project activities and results.

The expected outcomes/results of the WP1 will be:

-Organisation of 1st transnational meeting;
-Validation of the Project Valorisation Plan;
-Validation of the Project Quality Management Plan;
-The State of the Art Report on Distance Learning Quality for SME's (all languages and EN version);
-The Criteria for Evaluating Quality in e-Learning.
-Project blog implementation and project corporate image definition.
